sabarot's commitments
to a csr initiative

CSR stands for Corporate Social Responsibility and represents all the company’s social and environmental concerns.

We are concerned for the well-being of our employees, their health and the company’s ecological footprint.

2017 FORSE CSR Trophy:

We won this trophy for our heavy involvement in local networks and also for our ambition to implement small-scale yet structured innovations and our desire to maintain local development.

Our commitment to biodiversity

We are helping biodiversity and sustainable development with the installation of a beehive at our company.

By protecting the bees, we are becoming an eco-responsible company, a so-called “green” company.

Providing SUPPORT

Farmers who are committed to sustainability are at the very heart of our concerns.

We support them through SABAROT Agriculture by creating production networks.

Sustainable development

We encourage car sharing by providing benefits (fuel card).

93% of our staff live in the area, and all our employees live less than 10 km from the premises.

Respecting the environment

We are working to replace plastic films with biodegradable and recyclable cardboard and reducing secondary packaging.

We have opted for recycling and optimising our waste, using biodegradable packaging and promoting labelled products.

We are “Committed + Entrepreneurs”..

A community initiative

We are heavily involved with the local community (sponsorship, patronage, partnership)

“Le Puy Lumières”: : Primary sponsor celebrating monuments in Puy-en-Velay through a light and projection show

“Le Puy green lentil, a family story”

It’s easy, I was born in Le Puy, in a family of “Ponots” for many generations. I only knew Le Puy green lentil.
At 14th years old, during a school exchange, I was offered lentil soup.
The soup was red, I did not understand, for me, there was only one kind of lentil, green lentil. 1st surprise: unique, authentic.

At 22nd years old, I was in a small town in the supermarket, I was desperate, there were no green lentils from Le Puy. I had to take the train, go to Cambridge, find a delicatessen and find out that my Le Puy green lentil was a luxury product. 2nd surprise: luxury, international.

At 30th years old, in the south-west, the day after the wedding, the caterer wanted to please the guests and offered us a cold salad of Le Puy green lentils. Our green lentil was a wedding dish. 3rd surprise: gastronomy, prestige.
At 32th years old, again installed in Haute-Loire, less than 5 minutes from Sabarot, this summer during the village festival, between neighbors, we shared a very good salad of Le Puy green lentils with grilled meats. 4th surprise: happiness, simplicity, conviviality, homecoming.

Marie Favre, a consumer of lentils since childhood.
