Until when can I consume dried legumes?

Like all food products, dried legumes have a best before date (BBE) or minimum durability date (MDD), which indicate the date beyond which your product may lose its nutritional or culinary qualities.

Dried legumes (lentils, beans, peas...) as their name suggests, are dry and therefore if they are kept away from light and humidity, they are not at great risk.

Therefore, you can consume them beyond the date indicated on the package.

The cooking time may be extended, but the product remains consumable.

To restore its qualities, you can add a spoonful of sugar to the cooking water.
